An opportunity to take time out to re-assess what matters in your life.


Stress Management & Relaxation

The workshop provides an excellent way to increase your own awareness of what stress means to you and the choices and techniques available to increase your ability to understand and manage stress more effectively. This straightforward, experiential workshop, provides a starting point from which you can begin developing a stress management approach that meets your specific situation and needs.This is a very practical course which combines theory, discussion and a gentle introduction to physical and mental relaxation. The practical sessions take place in the yoga studio and participants are encouraged to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes.
Outline Programme

1. What is Stress? Definitions; characteristics; spotting it in ourselves and others.

2. How Stress Affects our Behaviour: communication; anger; decision making; managing; health; time management.

3. Self-Assessment: How stressed are you?

4. Managing Stress: identifying stressors; coping strategies; building resilience.

5. Stress Reduction: breathing techniques; physical and mental relaxation; practical exercises.

6. Planning for the Future: identifying your strategy.

 

Power Yoga Start-Up Weekend

  Participants will be introduced to the structured nature of this practice, beginning with the Sun Salutations which link the postures together. The nature and use of Ujjayi Pranayama will be explained and developed, setting you up with a practice for life. Time will be taken to explain all movements, showing modifications to suit all ages, shapes and levels of fitness.

 Relaxation & Meditation

This workshop will give you the opportunity to unwind completely. If you suffer from stress-related conditions e.g. insomnia, over-eating, post traumatic stress disorder etc, this workshop will give you a range of techniques you can use anywhere and anytime.
