Ayrshire will at last be blessed with its own dedicated Yoga Studio. I have attended Yoga classes and seminars with teachers who travel worldwide and Sheila ranks among the very best. Nobody will leave this studio disappointed.Jean, Ayr
I have been attending Sheila’s Yoga classes since January 2003 and have found them to be invaluable. In my opinion, she provides a type of Yoga experience that cannot be found anywhere else locally.
I look forward to attending classes in her new studio.

I used to suffer from road rage. In an attempt to cope with this I take myself back to class and recall Sheila’s voice talking us through relaxation and the use of the breath. Actively taking myself back to a calm place has allowed me to gain much better control of my frustration and anger in these situations – much to the relief of my family and myself and, no doubt, other drivers!Carlo, Troon
I approached Sheila for one to one lessons with the aim of learning enough Yoga to help me with free-diving, but with her knowledge and patience she has managed to introduce me to the full scope of what Yoga can offer. In the space of a few months I genuinely feel like a new person. Sheila is a flexible (pun intended), supportive and professional teacher who takes the time to understand individual strengths, weaknesses and aspirations.Sam, Straiton
I dabbled in Yoga when I was in my late teens but at this time there were only a few teachers in the area teaching the same form. Although I enjoyed it, it didn’t provide a challenge or hold my interest like it should have done. I left it again and returned to Yoga in my early twenties with a different teacher, knowing that it was good for my mind and body but still, something was missing. All the time I was realising that there was something about Yoga that was different from other types of exercise I had tried and I wanted to build on that. Then I heard about Sheila Dickson who was teaching different forms of Yoga. Within weeks, I knew that I had found the right teacher and had decided that Yoga would become a permanent part of my life. This was what I had been looking for!
My health and general well being continued to improve as Sheila introduced me to different styles of Yoga, all of which have their benefits in different ways. Sheila continues to support and inspire me and has been a great influence on my Yoga path, especially now that I am teaching! Sheila is a naturally gifted Yoga practitioner who provides a nurturing, calm environment for students to develop their practice, at all levels and all done with grace, sensitivity and patience!Thank you Sheila!

I have been interested in the science of Yoga for many years and, after a number of disappointing classes, I knew within the first five minutes of Sheila’s Yoga class that this was what I’d been looking for.A skilful practitioner certainly but, more than that, someone who was teaching the essential spirit and intention behind the practice with total conviction. Her belief in and devotion to her teaching is present in every class. You cannot help being inspired by her enthusiasm.
Her classes can be physically challenging and invigorating. They can also be meditative and calming. Whichever, I always finish a class feeling better in body and mind. I have been practicing Yoga with Sheila’s guidance for over 5 years now and it has been an amazing journey so far. However, I believe the best is yet to come.

I have practiced yoga for nearly 10 years and have had several teachers along the way. I started with Iyengar in Edinburgh, but soon discovered Ashtanga and became immediately hooked.I then moved to the west coast and struggled to find a suitable class, until I discovered Sheila’s wonderful classes at a local gym I joined.
Sheila’s combination of awareness, skill, knowledge, sensitivity, and humour makes her an outstanding yoga instructor. I would (and do on a regular basis) wholeheartedly recommend Sheila’s classes to anyone interested in practicing yoga.

I requested Yoga for the veterans as I had previous experience of yoga, working in mental health. Due to heightened arousal levels and increased anger and anxiety, we work on reducing stress levels using a variety of interventions – yoga being one of them.
They were initially sceptical but once they participated, many found it to be both enjoyable and therapeutic. They did use a lot of humour when feeding back to us, but were also able to report increased feelings of confidence and ability to engage in new activities. Stress levels also reduced. Some even sought out classes in their local areas, which is a sure indication of its positive use!

Sheila can tailor her classes to suit all levels of experience and ability. There’s never any pressure to match anyone else in the group – you always work at the level that’s right for you.All classes are great for improving posture, flexibility and balance, while the ‘Power Yoga’ class is superb if you’re looking for a more vigorous workout. For me, it’s as good as any session in the gym, plus it’s more fun!
Whatever the class, I always leave feeling revitalized and yet relaxed!

I have been attending Sheila's yoga classes for almost ten years. Essentially, I practice yoga for the physical benefits of strength, stamina and flexibility. Ashtanga (power yoga) classes are an ideal way to increase physical fitness. In all yoga classes - whether a quick flowing Ashtanga class, or a slower, controlled Iyengar class - we focus on our breathing as well as the physical postures.
Paying attention to my breath in class has enabled me, a born worrier, to control my breathing in stressful or challenging life situations, not just when I am on my yoga mat! I also enjoy the sense of calm and balance that comes at the end of all classes. Sheila is an inspiring teacher, whose knowledge and sensitivity are always evident. I miss her when she goes on holiday!

I have attended Sheila's yoga classes from Fusion to Ashtanga for the past 5 years. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge that she is happy to share as well as patience and understanding that makes her approachable to ask. With a wide variety of students in each class, Sheila is able to teach the "full meal deal" posture as well as an introductory posture so everyone is involved and practicing within their own comfort zone. I find her class is the perfect balance to a hectic Western lifestyle and I'm looking forward to the next 5 years under her teaching.
